Some weddings feel beautiful. Others feel meaningful. My cousin Erica’s winter Christmas wedding at Wintergreen Resort was both—and then some.
Tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains, Wintergreen delivered the perfect holiday backdrop: snow-dusted views, glowing lights, evergreen accents, and that quiet, magical feeling that only a mountain winter can bring. From the moment guests arrived, it felt like stepping into a Christmas memory in the making.

One of the most emotional details of the day was Erica’s wedding dress—handmade by my grandma.
Every stitch carried history, patience, and love. In a world of fast fashion and overnight shipping, this dress was a reminder of what craftsmanship and family tradition truly mean. It wasn’t just custom—it was personal. Watching Erica walk down the aisle wearing something made by her own grandmother and worn by her mother was a moment that left very few dry eyes in the room.
The entire weekend flowed effortlessly, thanks to thoughtful planning and beautiful design. The florals were especially stunning—soft, seasonal, and perfectly in tune with the winter setting.

Faded Poppy brought the winter vision to life with lush greenery, holiday-inspired arrangements, and elegant details that felt festive without being overdone. Everything—from the ceremony florals to the reception touches—felt intentional, warm, and timeless.
No recap would be complete without Brodie—Erica’s dog and the undeniable star of the weekend. Whether he was greeting guests, appearing in photos, or simply soaking up attention, Brodie brought joy, laughter, and a little extra heart to the celebration.
Because honestly? Weddings are better with dogs.
And then there were the cookies.
Five hundred Christmas cookies—each made entirely by hand by our family using our grandma’s (we called her Sweetie Pie) cherished family recipes. Weeks of baking, generations of tradition, and countless hours went into creating what became one of the most talked-about details of the wedding.
These weren’t just desserts; they were memories. The kind that taste like childhood Christmases, family kitchens, and holidays spent together. Guests filled plates, asked for recipes, and snuck extras for later—because once you tasted one, stopping was impossible.
Erica’s Christmas wedding at Wintergreen wasn’t about trends or perfection—it was about family, tradition, and love. From a dress sewn by hand, to cookies baked with generations of care, to florals that captured the spirit of the season, every detail told a story.
It was cozy. It was heartfelt. And it was exactly what a winter wedding should be.
If you’re dreaming of a mountain wedding that feels intimate, meaningful, and wrapped in holiday magic, Wintergreen Resort delivers something truly unforgettable.
Here’s to love, legacy, and a whole lot of Christmas cookies. ❄️🍪💛
